History

Like every good startup, Deneve began in a garage. One member of a family said, “Hey, why don’t we try selling our products on the Internet?” Someone else responded, “Sounds like a good idea! I’ve been hearing a lot about this Internet thing lately.”

This happened in early 2013.

Since launching in 2013, we’ve quickly expanded our product line, and we have even more products in the pipeline. Seems like we might be on to something with this whole Internet thing!

Mission

We have a straightforward policy for selecting or designing our products: we only sell products that we would use ourselves. 

Social Responsibility

At Deneve, the “triple bottom line” is alive and well. We seek to do right, do well, and do good in support of people, profits, and the planet. This means we’re striving to play an active role in the communities in which we operate.

Deneve’s founders have a long, personal history of donating and providing charitably. Even though running a company can be pretty hectic, we strongly believe that, at minimum, we need to help you pay things forward by making charitable contributions.

In light of this, we donate a portion of a product’s net proceeds to a charitable organization who is relevant to the product, as often as once every 3 months. To ensure that your money will work most effectively, we scrutinize the recipients of our donations by analyzing their overhead and efficiency on trustworthy watchdog resources such as charitywatch.org and charitynavigator.org.

Minimal Imprint

Because we believe in being outstanding stewards of our beautiful nation and planet, Deneve’s US-based operations abides by a 100% zero-landfill policy. All leftover materials are recycled, including electronics.

Deneve keeps e-waste at a minimum by re purposing or reselling most of our electronics. In the event that we have leftover e-waste, we deliver our electronic scrap to local, state-approved e-recycling facilities participating in the CalRecycle Covered Electronic Waste System. These facilities have in-house machinery to pulverize electronics into raw, reusable materials. This ensures that electronics are not shipped to external, non-audited facilities which employ child labor, who may be exposed to toxins while manually sorting and processing e-waste. Also, Deneve strives to be a paperless organization. 90%+ of our processes and operations are paperless.
